What is your AI policy?

Please do not submit AI-generated work—we want to hear your authentic voice! To ensure that this is the case, it is Marmalade Lit’s official policy to run all accepted pieces through AI detection software. Furthermore, Marmalade Lit reserves the right to rescind acceptances if presented with strong evidence of AI use.

How long will it take to hear back about my submission?

We aim to respond to most submissions within three to seven days, although it can take us up to two months. Response times may vary depending on submission volume.

What counts as prose?

We aren’t strict about categories. Submit to the category you believe your work best fits in. Generally speaking, we would consider short fiction, creative nonfiction, and dramatic scripts prose.

Do you offer individualized feedback on submissions?

As much as we’d love to provide feedback on all submissions, we’re currently unable to as we’re a small and busy team.

How many pieces will be published?

We generally aim to publish 15 pieces, but this number may vary issue to issue.
